UPDATE: Oklahoma County MPs Capture Prosecution Suspect


Correction: The prosecuting law enforcement agency was originally identified as the Oklahoma City Police. Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office deputies are currently pursuing the suspect.

UPDATE: Oklahoma County MPs apprehended the prosecution suspect, capturing him on Arthur Drive in Midwest City.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Members of the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a suspect who has led them on a chase through the Oklahoma City metro area.

The suspect abandoned his vehicle following a car chase. MPs are looking for him near Sandra Drive and Arthur Drive in Midwest City. He is wanted on an arrest warrant for suspected possession of controlled hazardous substances.

The chase began near the 15th and earlier.

MPs chased the suspect, passing Reno at a speed of 60 miles per hour, passing cars in oncoming traffic.

The chase passed northeast of 10th Street and soon after approached 23rd Street.

The pursuit went west on the 23rd, south on Sooner, south through 10, then west on Reno.

The suspect then drove police onto 12th Street South East, then east on 10th and into a residential area.

Once in the residential area, the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

The deputies surrounded a man and started arresting him, put the handcuffs on him, but then learned that he was not the real suspect, removed the handcuffs and let him go.

The search for the suspect then resumed.

Chopper 4 was in the sky over the scene, helping MPs locate the suspect.
