Oklahoma Families Prepare for Tax Free Weekend


OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The school year is fast approaching and parents are trying to save some money before sending these students back to class.

Families in Oklahoma can visit state stores to participate in the annual state sales tax holiday starting Friday, August 6.

Officials say qualifying items will be sold without sales tax starting at 12:01 am on Friday, August 6.

The tax-free holiday will end on Sunday, August 8 at 11:59 p.m.

According to the Oklahoma Tax Commission, clothing and footwear under $ 100 will be tax exempt during the event.
