Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Daniel Hall, Castlen Moore Kennedy, Joel Mickey and Phil Wilson to the state’s energy plan advisory committee for terms at the governor’s discretion. In addition, the governor appointed Wilson chairman of the committee.

Daniel room of Hurst is Vice President of Measurement and Billing for Oncor and has held various positions at Oncor since 2009. Previously, he worked for Alcatel-Lucent and TXU Business Services. He is a member of the Southeastern Electricity Exchange Engineering and Operations Committee. Hall received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Technology from Texas A&M University.

Castlen Moore Kennedy of Houston is Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs for Apache Corporation and has held various positions at Apache since 2006. Previously, she worked for the US Department of Energy, S&B Infrastructure and RWE Trading Americas. She is a board member of the Texas Oil & Gas Association, president and board member of the Texas Lyceum, and a board member of Springboard, a non-profit educational organization in Egypt. In addition, she is a member of the Advisory Board of the University of Texas at Austin School of Natural Sciences (UT Austin), the UT Austin Jackson School of Energy and Earth Resources Program, and the UT Austin Kay Energy Center. Bailey Hutchison. Kennedy received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, a Master of Arts in Energy and Land Resources, and a Master of Public Affairs from UT Austin.

Joel mickey of Georgetown is a consultant to the power and energy industry. Previously, he worked for ERCOT for almost 20 years, as well as for Altra Energy and Houston Lightning & Power. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the College of Computer and Electrical Engineering at Oklahoma University, Keys Property Management, and Heartland Health Management, and a past member of the Board of Trustees of the North American Energy Standards Board. Mickey received a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Political Science from Houston Baptist University and completed the Accelerated Development Program at Rice University.

Phil wilson of Austin is the CEO of the Lower Colorado River Authority. Previously, he served as Acting Executive Commissioner of the Texas Board of Health and Human Services, Executive Director of the Texas Department of Transportation and Senior Vice President of Public Affairs, and General Manager of Luminant. In addition, he was appointed Secretary of State for Texas in 2007, and he served as chairman of the Governor Competitiveness Council and the Texas Border Security Council. He is a member of the Austin Area Research Organization, a board member of the Large Public Power Council, an advisory member of the Texas Lyceum, and a past chairman of the board of the Austin Chamber of Commerce. Wilson received a BA in History and Political Science from Hardin-Simmons University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
